European Commission acknowledges the need to support SMEs in their digital transition and funds the PRONTO project.

SMEs are important within Europe’s economy. Research shows that SMEs lag in digitalisation and are also less likely to have the skills for managing their digital transformation. Withthe impact of the COVID19 pandemic on the economy and the need for social distancing, SMEs need to urgently adapt their business models. This will involve implementing change and business improvement projects, hence the need for PRONTO (Project On-Time and On-Budget).

The European Commission saw the need for a project like this and approved the project this spring.

John Moore, director of Exponential Training & Assessment and founder of the PRONTO project explains: “This Erasmus+ project will focus on two specific questions: the first one being how to support the VET sector to be better equipped to meet the demands of the digital era. PRONTO will develop a simple to use system focussed on project management. The second question of the project has to do with how to support enterprise and entrepreneurship to improve competitiveness and performance. The project will result in the development and deployment ofhigh quality, innovative work-based VET within the context of helping entrepreneurs to implement high impact, results-focused business improvement projects.” Now the project is ready to kick-off.
